She was previously director of Pearson's programme of global thought leadership, focusing on the future of education, skills and work, and how technology, including AI, can augment learning and teaching. She has also been a senior advisor and aide to the dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and an evaluation and policy researcher at the Urban Institute, a Washington, DC-based think tank. She is currently mentoring a cybersecurity education startup for the European Commission-supported IMPACT EdTech Accelerator programme.
She is a skilled chair and frequent speaker at education events around the world, and is co-editor of Improving the Odds for America’s Children: Future Directions in Policy and Practice (Harvard Education Press, 2014), and co-author of Intelligence Unleashed: An Argument for AI in Education (Pearson, 2016).
